President Donald Trump has revealed a plan he described as “historic” aimed at the complete disarmament of Hamas, which he believes could pave the way for resolving the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This announcement was shared through social media, but it has yet to receive official confirmation from either the Israeli government or Hamas.
Under Trump’s proposal, Hamas would gradually dismantle its military infrastructure, including the destruction of its tunnel network and the surrender of its heavy weaponry, all under international supervision. In exchange, Israeli forces would initiate a phased withdrawal from Gaza. During this transition, an international stabilization force along with a new Palestinian security administration would assume responsibility for maintaining order in the region.
The plan also requires a complete cessation of military operations before the disarmament process begins. Afterward, heavy weapons, tunnels, and other military infrastructures would be dismantled under the oversight of an international verification committee. While it is reported that Hamas has agreed to the framework in principle, the preparations for disarmament are contingent upon international approval and agreement from all involved parties.
