As China and India gear up for the 25th round of Special Representatives’ Talks on the Boundary Question, efforts to address the border issues between the two nations continue. The announcement was made by a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, during a routine press briefing on Tuesday. Guo emphasized that both countries are actively communicating about their border-related concerns and are committed to implementing the decisions made in the previous round of discussions.
Currently, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is in New Delhi, participating in the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. During his visit, he held talks with Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Adviser, on Monday. This meeting is part of ongoing diplomatic engagements aimed at fostering dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.
Guo Jiakun highlighted that the situation along the China-India border remains stable and that the communication channels between the two countries are functioning effectively. He reiterated that both sides are working diligently to apply the consensus reached during the 24th round of boundary negotiations, underlining the importance of these efforts in maintaining peace and stability along the frontier.
