Spider-Man: Brand New Day didn’t just beat one record — it swept them all on the way to a historic first. The trailer, released March 17, broke the records of Deadpool & Wolverine, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Grand Theft Auto VI before going on to become the first movie trailer in history to cross one billion views. WaveMetrix confirmed the 1.1 billion total by Tuesday, four days after launch.

The 24-hour benchmark of 718.6 million views was responsible for eliminating the competition in a single day. Deadpool & Wolverine’s 365 million Super Bowl record, No Way Home’s 355.5 million, and GTA VI’s 475 million were all surpassed within the first day. Brand New Day then continued to accumulate views at a staggering rate before crossing the billion mark.

The total of 1.1 billion views within four days has never been recorded before for any trailer in any format. Brand New Day does not just hold the film trailer record — it holds the record for all entertainment trailers. No rival had ever come close to a billion before Brand New Day arrived.

Opening July 31, the film is the fourth MCU Spider-Man entry and part of Phase Six. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando, it is one of Marvel’s most anticipated films. It will be released in India across six languages.

The trailer’s emotionally compelling narrative of a forgotten Peter Parker still fighting for New York generated massive global engagement. Fans filled social media with heartfelt responses and inventive alternate titles. Brand New Day has arrived as a cultural titan — and its theatrical run on July 31 promises to continue that dominance.
